1 Day Scuba Diving Program

Our main diving venue within Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park (TARP), located just 8 min boat ride from the Sutera Harbor Resort.

The fun however does not stop here, we love to explore, so our Dive Club regularly journeys to farther afield locations such as Pulau Tiga and Pulau Mengalum, these special trips are available on request and follow a different itinerary to that given below.

For beginners to the sport of Scuba Diving and professionals alike TARP offers a great deal - Tropical waters abundant with diverse and fascinating marine life, sheltered reefs with year round dive access, idilic island paradise settings to snorkel and while away surface intervals - all this within view of the KK city centre and Mt Kinabalu.

Mamutik and Sulug Island are often our base for the day with all dive sites minutes from the tropical island paradise.

Dive sites within the park are predominantly sloping coral reefs, mangrove areas and sand slopes with plenty of fish life and macro subjects - ideal for photographers both beginners and those more advanced.

Two of our favorite dives sites are North Sulug Reef and Mamutik Shore. The former directly faces the South China Sea, a sloping reef to 25m with some stunning corals coral blocks and schools of snapper, pufferfish, lots of butterfly and angelfish, the occasional turtle and sometimes home to a handful of Frogfish.

Mamutik Shore Dive is a true "Muck Dive" and nearly always produces a few macro surprises and photographers can be sure of finding interesting subjects not worrying too much about bottom time as its pretty shallow with a maximum depth of 12m. Recent discoveries include, Cockatoo Waspfish, Cuttlefish, Robust Ghostpipefish, Stonefish and demon Stingers.

Night dives are very popular, various crustaceans, octopus and seahorses are some of the creatures to be found at night rather than during the day.
