PADI DIVEMASTER COURSE

The PADI Divemaster program is the first professional level in the PADI System of diver education. Entering the professional world of scuba diving brings exciting challenges and endless possibilities.

As a certified Divemaster you'll be able to act as a certified instructional assistant to PADI Instructors, plan, organize and lead dives, supervise participants in PADI experience programs for uncertified divers, teach and certify PADI Skin Divers, conduct the PADI Scuba Review program for certified divers and enroll in PADI Instructor level training.

You'll complete three phases in the PADI Divemaster program:

1. Watermanship and skills assessment

Watermanship and stamina exercisess which acrrew points for a a passing grade.

General diving skills - perform 20 skills from the Open Water Course to demonstration quality

2. Knowledge Development

Diving physics, Diving physiology, Diving skills and environment, Supervising students in training, Dive management and control, Dive planning, Emergency assistance plan for Diving emergencies in the local area, Mapping a local open water site

3. Practical Application

This involves training activities using various structured training sessions, simulated scenarios and internship sessions with actual PADI programs. These training sessions enable you to gain practical experience as an instructional assistant and a supervisor of open water diving activities, both as a coordinator and as an underwater guide.

Upon successfully completing the PADI Divemaster program, you'll receive a certification card and wall certificate denoting this rating. You'll also become a member of PADI and receive benefits, including the ability to purchase professional liability insurance (which may be required to conduct some activities).


Prerequisites

Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent). Be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent). Have logged a minimum of 20 open water dives prior to entry into PADI Divemaster training, and completed and logged a minimum of 60 open water dives with experience in night, deep and navigation prior to certification as a PADI Divemaster. Be at least 18 years old. Be in good physical condition for diving and submit a medical exam form signed by a physician.

Course Duration

The Divemaster Course can be run in as little as 10 days, however we feel that one month internships are far more beneficial for the participant. For this we provide very affordable accommodation in Kota Kinabalu City, participants benefit from very cheap diving for the month and not only get to deal with real students (under the direct supervision of an instructor) they learn the mechanism of a real dive school.
