Proboscis Monkey - Nasalis larvatus
Living only in Borneo, these wonderful monkeys inhabit costal mangrove, swamps and riverine forests. Classified as near extinction due to loss of habitat. They are easily identified by the males large protruding nose. They live in small groups with a dominant male and his harem, bachelor males also form small groups of their own. They are excellent climbers and swimmers and have been observed walking upright in line formation.
